Hasken Failat Kogi state, Alhaji Mohammed Shakur Yunusa has called on Muslims in the state to shun all forms of social vices as they begin a new Islamic year, Muharam 1442.
In a message of congratulations to all Moslems in Nigeria on the commencement of the new Islamic calendar year, the cleric prayed for more peaceful co-existence, unity and progress among Nigerians.
Alhaji Shakur charged Moslems to observe the importance of the new calendar year tagged ‘forbidden’ for all vices inimical to the survival of human race ranging from killings, kidnappings, stealing, and crises.
He stressed the need for all Moslems to replicate the conduct of the Holy Prophet Mohammed and other prophets of God by observing the 10th of Muharam fasting.
He prayed for the peaceful co-existence of Moslems and non Moslems in the new year, while appealing to leaders to consider doing more to enhance the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.
Hasken Failat Kogi wished moslems many more years of celebrations in good health.
