Motorists and commuters plying the Okene- Ajaokuta-Ayingba road in Kogi State have called on the state police commissioner, Seidu Madawaki, to increase police presence on the road due to what they called incessant armed robbery attacks.

Some of the motorists and commuters who spoke to our correspondent said they are being dispossessed of money and other valuables on a daily basis by armed robbers.

One of the motorists, Momoh Jimoh Abu, said they now ply the road in fear as armed robbers operate freely.

Abu called on the commissioner of police to increase personnel on the road.  Also, a commuter who only gave his name as John said he has been a victim of armed robbery on the road.

John, a student of the Kogi State University, said while on his way to school from Okene, he was attacked by robbers, who disposed him of all belongings.
