Motion calling on the state government to direct the ministry of water resources to tackle urgently the challenges of inadequate water supply in Ankpa LGA.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker, my distinguish colleagues, water as the saying goes, is life. No life, animate or inanimate can survive without water. And where is available but no sufficient or contaminated, consequences are grave dehydration and diseases.
Whereas the provision for clean, portable water is a necessity in meeting our daily needs for domestic and other purposes. The need for continuous water supply to meet the basic needs cannot be overemphasized.
Whereas the people of Ankpa local government area are facing challenges of inadequate water supply. Residents have highly limited access to a variety of water sources, but poorly situated and not working public water stand pipes. The Ankpa water works has not been functioning to provide good water to the people, thereby making life unbearable to the people.
Be it resolved by this Honorable house:
That this Honorable house do direct the state government as a matter of urgency to prevail on the ministry of water resources to immediately reticulate and activate the already completed Ankpa water works.
