The Etsu of Bassa Nge Kingdom, Brig. Gen. Abu Ali Mopah III (Rtd) has organised a special prayer in preparation for successful Bassa Nge/Nupe National Festival.
This was conducted immediately after the 8days prayer of Late Alhaji Idris Abdullahi at the Etsu palace today in Gboloko.
In a statement signed by Abdulrasheed Amore Tenimu, the prayer which was lead by the chief Imam of Bassa Nge Kingdom, Alhaji Suleiman Nubi and have other Islamic scholars in and out the kingdom in attendance.
The Islamic scholars which includes Khalifa Shehu Shaibu Kenchi Lokoja, Khalifa Shehu Yabagi Lokoja, Khalifa Shehu Isah okete from Elete in their separate prayers, prayed for the land to witness a successful Bassa Nge/Nupe National Festival and also prayed for the progress and development of Bassa Nge Kingdom and Nigeria as a whole.
In a related development, the various Committees for the upcoming Bassa Nge /Nupe National Festival used the medium, immediately after the prayers, to brief the Bassa Nge Council of Chiefs and other Bassa Nge stakeholders on how far they have gone in preparation for the festival.
The committees made it known that they have attain 90% of their preparation and assured the Bassa Nge race in giving out their best to have a successful celebration.
Responding to the report, the Etsu thanked the committees for their effort so far to organised a successful festival.
He urged all the Bassa Nges to support the upcoming festival to make it first of it kind in the history of Bassa Nge ethnicity.
The paramount Traditional Ruler said all arrangements are on ground in the area of cultural display and to welcome different Royal fathers across the country which includes the Etsu Nupe Alhaji Dr. Yahaya Abubakar the Chairman Niger state Traditional Council of Chiefs which he said will arrive in the kingdom on 25th of this month leave on 28th.
Those in attendance includes the Chief Administrator of Bassa LGA, Hon. Samuel Zakeri Alumka and Alhaji Dr. Abdumumuni Yakubu Umar and promised to take some responsibilities in the organising the festival.
