Alhaji Adeiza Momoh-Jimoh has been re-elected as chairman of Kogi State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Momoh-Jimoh was inaugurated with six other members of the State Working Committee (SWC) returned un-opposed at the 2020 Triennial Delegates Conference/Inauguration in NUJ Press Center, Lokoja on Thursday.
Momoh-Jimoh, first elected chairman of the Council in 2017 along with his Exco members and returned un-opposed with his team for another term of three years, expressed gratitude to God and the congress.
The National Vice-President of the Union, Zone ‘D’, Mr Wilson Bako, administered the oath of office on the officers at the NUJ secretariat in Lokoja.
The inauguration which was held at the council secretariat in Lokoja the state capital had all the officers returned unopposed.
The newly inaugurated officers are: Adeiza Momoh-Jimoh, Chairman. Abubakar Sule Hussain, Vice Chairman. Saidu Ademu, General Secretary. Abdul Aji, Assistant Secretary. Atuluku Samuel, Financial Secretary. Aka Adebayo, Treasurer and Noah Peters, Auditor.
The Vice Chairman NUJ Zone ‘D’ praised the Kogi state council for a successful election and inauguration.
He urged members of the union to be supportive and corporate with the new team while also calling on the Executive to not betray the trust and confidence imposed on them and not to allow their personal interest over ride that of the union.
Speaking on behalf of the elected officials, Momoh-Jimoh pledged that by God’s grace the tempo of good leadership will be sustained.
“We should rededicate ourselves to our God-given profession by trying to be as professional as possible in the stories we disseminate. Professionalism is at the core of our job as Journalists.
“If we do our job professionally without bias, the reward of such ethical conduct will be reaped some other day. Let me therefore challenge my colleagues to leave above board all times,” he said.
