The organised labour in Kogi State has directed all Unions and affiliates under them to immediately comply with the national directive of embarking on national strike to press home the demand for a minimum wage.

State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Amari Gabriel disclosed this at a meeting with SEC members on behalf of his Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart, Comrade Sule Ahmed Tijani in Lokoja on Sunday.

He called on all leaders of Unions to make the strike have its full impact of total compliance and cooperation, describing it as a struggle for the liberation of Nigeria workers from hunger, pain and poverty.

Also speaking, State TUC chairman, Comrade Sule Ahmed Tijani called on workers for their total cooperation to achieve set goals.

He appealed that all Union leaders enforce the strike to bring about maximum output and results for a total shutdown.

Also speaking, Vice Chairman of the NLC who also double as enforcement chairman for the strike, Comrade Opaluwa Eleojo, called on all chapter chairmen to be their duty post for enforcement as the monitoring committee goes around.

The nationwide strike is expected to commence twelve midnight Sunday.

All Union leaders promised to comply with the directives to the effect of making the strike effective and achieve set goals.

It would be recalled that the national body of the organised labour, after the expiry of the May 31st deadline given to the Federal Government, declared a nationwide strike to press the demand for minimum wage for Nigeria workers in view of the failure of government to arrive at an agreement with the tripartite committee set up.
