Deputy National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, has expressed delight in the decision of a prominent Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh to join the ruling party.
Meseko, who described Tonto Dikeh as a “big fish”, said the return of Tonto Dikeh to the APC was an actualization of efforts he has put in with others.
He expressed confidence in the capacity of Tonto Dikeh to bring value to the party.
He made this known when Tonto, who was former Deputy Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, visited the national secretariat to declare her defection to APC at the office of the National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Alile Idele.
Accompanied by several friends and associates, Ms Tonto Dikeh said she was merely returning home and that her political sojourn outside the party for a while was an indication of the errors youthful exuberance could cause.
She pledged to work with the National Women Leader to ensure enhanced participation of women and the youth in the party.
The actress lauded the performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu pointing out that it is just a matter of time for Nigerians to start reaping the benefits.
The National Women Leader of APC, Dr. Mary Alile Idele welcomed Ms. Tonto Dikeh and expressed her readiness to work with her.
