An aspirant for the Yagba Federal Constituency seat, Engr. Edward Olatunji Meseko, has called for increased investment in youth empowerment and community-driven development initiatives as a pathway to sustainable growth in the area.

Meseko made the call on Tuesday during an interactive session with supporters, where he highlighted the need to harness the potential of young people across Yagba.

He noted that unemployment and lack of opportunities remained major challenges confronting the constituency, stressing that deliberate policies must be introduced to equip youths with relevant skills and access to funding.

“Our young people are energetic and full of ideas, but they need support. If given the right training and opportunities, they can become drivers of economic growth in Yagba and beyond,” he said.

Meseko explained that his legislative focus, if elected, would include advocating for vocational training centres, entrepreneurship support schemes, and improved access to credit facilities for small businesses.

He also emphasised the importance of involving local communities in decision-making processes, noting that development efforts yield better results when people are actively engaged.

“Development should not be imposed from the top. Our communities must be part of the conversation, from planning to implementation,” he added.

The aspirant further stressed the need for partnerships between government, private sector, and development organisations to fast-track progress in critical sectors.

He urged residents of the constituency to remain hopeful and committed to collective progress, assuring them of responsive and people-oriented representation.

Meseko reiterated his determination to promote policies that would uplift living standards and create a more inclusive and prosperous Yagba Federal Constituency.
