Dr MD Eseyin, the Bashorun of Okagi-Amuro, has expressed great sadness over the passing of HRH Oba Mathew Dele Obasa, the Adubakana of Okagi Amuro, Mopamuro LGA, Kogi State, after a brief illness saying, it was shocking and unfortunate.
A statement by Eseyin on Saturday in Lokoja, described the sudden death of the late royal father as a rude shock and devastating to him and his entire family.
According to Eseyin, the late Okagi Monarch’s demise was a personal loss to me and my family.
Eseyin, who is the National President of the National body for former and serving Public Office Holders Association of Nigeria (POHAN), said the late traditional ruler taught him how to be strong in the face of daunting challenges.
”He stood by my family always as a father and counselor especially during the period of my late wife’s health challenges.
”The late monarch’s very last visit to our Lokoja home in respect of such uncommon kindness was on May 28, 2020, proffering solutions in the face of challenges.
”The only confidant of my beloved Mum is gone, as most times he abandoned his personal assignments to attend to my mother’s needs.
”I know you’re in a better place with my late wife. Away from all forms of evils”, Eseyin said.
He added that the late royal father, had so much trust in him in such a way that his council (Okagi-Amuro Traditional Council) coronated him with the traditional title of Bashorun of Okagi Land.
”My heartfelt condolences to the great people of Okagi community and Amuro in general, the children and the immediate family he left behind.
”May his soul rest in peace, and may the Almighty God grant the immediate family and the entire people of Okagi the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss”.
