Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Security in Yagba West local government area, Hon. Tade Oshaloto has commended the entire workforce in the council for their commitment to work.
In his Workers’ Day message, Oshaloto noted that the Organized Labor in Yagba West is peopled by forward thinkers who deserve accolades.
Oshaloto stated that the way the people of Yagba West has been able to adjust quickly to the harsh realities of COVID-19 safety protocols indicates that they are indeed ready for the future.
“I wish every worker in Yagba West and elsewhere across the nation a truly happy and reflective Workers’ Day. This year’s Workers’ Day is significant and historic because of the COVID-19 pandemic which has, in no small measure, redefined our ways of life and indeed our workplaces.
“While I agree that every service is essential for the growth and development of our local government, I must take this special moment to appreciate three frontline services: security agencies, healthcare professionals and our COVID-19 Safety Task Force.
“The global pandemic has despite its sordid realities reawaken some very key aspects of our communities. Love and compassion. We have seen – and continue to see – this at play within and across our various wards. Both the rich and the not so rich have genuinely become their brothers’ keepers.
“I know for certain that the humanity in us is largely responsible for how far we have come as a people. Going forward, this virtue has to be upheld. I cherish it and I pray nothing pollutes it.
“Prayers and gratitude go to every stakeholder who has the goodness of heart to part with their resources, especially food items and cash so that others can be fine. times like this. There is no better way to replicate the nature of our Father in heaven than this. We are doing well. Truly.
“Coronavirus might have stirred our humaneness, but it certainly did not stop there. It is showing us how much we need to hurry up to position ourselves and our dear local government for the enormous opportunities (and challenges) that the future holds. By His grace, I will be part of this important journey.
“I constituted a task force that comprised of the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Traditional Council HRH Elegbe of Egbe and his vice the Olu of Okeriland, all the heads of security agencies in the LG; the police, Army, NSCDC, JTF, NIS, Vigilantes, myself and two representatives from each of our fourteen (14) wards.
“Although, based on feelers, ours was arguably the strictest compliance, I am happy that the task force did not have to compel or harass anyone to obey safety protocols. We graciously complied because we are an understanding people. I have no doubt that His Excellency Yahaya Bello the Executive Governor of Kogi State, is incredibly proud of us,” he said.
He called on the people to strengthen each other in the Lord and align with the good policies of Governor Bello.
