Market Women in Kogi State have been assured of the enabling environment that would enable them carry out their businesses.
Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, gave the assurance when he stopped by at Isanlu market, to interact with the market women on how best government can engage them in the socio economic development of the state.
Awoniyi promised that the state government would rehabilitate the broken down bore holes in the market, said other facilities needed by the women to make them comfortable would also be provided at the market.
Awoniyi described the administration of Capt Idris Wada, as one that is genda friendly, said women empowerment has remained a priority of the administration.
Awoniyi appealed to the women to reelect Capt Wada for another term in office, disclosing that such opportunity would enable the governor complete and initiate several women and youths empowerment programmes that are of direct benefit to the women.
The Deputy Governor, described women as a veritable segment in the country, and constituting the greater majority of the voting population, urged them to use their votes wisely in the forthcoming governorship election, and vote Capt Wada and the Peoples Democratic Party.
Awoniyi said the granting of soft loans to women and other skill acquisition that would help improve the status of women in the state to be self reliant and to play complementary role in the upkeep of the family would be sustained in the administration of Capt Wada’s administration if elected.
Awoniyi thanked the women of Yagba East for their support for the present administration of Capt Wada, appealed to them to turnout enmass and cast their vote for the PDP, to enable the governor do more that would help secure the future of the state.
Awoniyi assured the women of job security for their husbands who are in the service, as well as improved quality education for their children.
