Operatives of the  State Security Service (SSS) in Kogi State have arrested a 21-year-old phone repairer, Sunday Okafor, for allegedly abducting a two-year-old boy, Prince Robbert, from Obasanjo Square, where his parents own a shop.

Parading the suspect yesterday at the headquarters of SSS in Lokoja,  the state Director, Mr Mike Fubara,  said the suspect, Sunday Okafor, and his accomplice, now at large, abducted the baby last Saturday with the intention of selling him for  N200,000 in Republic of Togo.

He said the victim was used to the suspect, because they live in the same area, just as their shops are located in the same area.

Speaking with journalists, the suspect, Sunday Okafor, said it was one Okoro, who is now at large, that lured him into the act. He alleged that  Okoro asked him to bring the boy to a particular area and that he did not know the reason for which the request was made.

He maintained that he was not aware of Okoro’s plan to take the boy to Republic of Togo. He added that it was while he was waiting for his accomplice at Nataco area of the state that the SSS arrested him.
