Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, on Sunday paid a condolence visit to Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi over demise of his mother, Hajia Hauwau Oziohu Bello, who passed away on March 15, at the age of 101.
Gov. Tambuwal, who visited Bello at the Government House Lokoja, conveyed the condolences of the people of Sokoto State to Gov. Bello and his entire family and the people of Kogi, saying, ”Mama lived a fulfilled life that was exemplary”.
“My dear brother, the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, I and the people of Sokoto State received with grieve the news of the passing of our dear mother, Hajia Hauwau Bello about 8 days ago.
”I quite made effort to make it to Kogi State on behalf of the people of Sokoto State. I come here this evening with this modest delegation to convey our condolences to you.
”Your Mother lived well, haven raised her offsprings to adulthood before departing with you as the last born attaining your present position, while she was alive speaks volumes of her fulfillment in life.
”In her own case, she did not only lived to see you grow but to see you attaining your present position with the help of Almighty Allah. Mama lived a fulfilled life that was exemplary.
”So, we are here to condole you on behalf of the people of Sokoto state to commiserate with you over the loss of your beloved mother.”
In his response, Governor Yahaya Bello, appreciated Gov. Tambuwal for the visit, saying he was glad to receive the Sokoto governor and his entourage.
According to Bello, aside politics, Gov. Tambuwal and the people of Tambuwal in Sokoto State are his in-law and on political ground, the Sokoto Governor was among the first set of persons to put a call to him in 2015, when he became Kogi governor, saying he shared valued ideas and opinions with him.
Governor Bello said her late mother was a very spirited figure, who lived and died as a devoted Muslim.
Bello thanked Governor Tambuwal and his entourage for finding time to travel down and commiserate with them.
Tambuwal was accompanied by Hon.Sulaiman usman (SAN), Attorney General of Sokoto State, Hon. Kakale balarabe, Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abu Audu member, House of Representatives and Hon. Mohammed Bargaja, member, House of Representatives, among others.
