The Maigari of Lokoja, HRH Alhaji (DR) Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi 111, has conferred a traditional title of “Shatiman Of Lokoja” on the former Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Council and Chieftain of APC in Kogi State, Alhaji Muhammad Mabo Kasim.
The Royal Father announced the conferment of the new traditional title to Mabo in a letter signed personally by him and made available to journalists in Lokoja on Thursday.
The Royal Father said the Lokoja Emirate Council decided to confer the title on Alhaji Mabo Kasim following his good contributions for the development of the emirate and people of the state in general.
“Considering your enormous wealth of experience, hard work, dedication, unwavering commitment to the issues that effect Lokoja, your general exposure to circumstances of life and above all your outstanding performance in the affairs of and growth and development of Lokoja township, I am elated and most delighted to confer to you the prestigious and revered title of “Shatiman of Lokoja” in exercise of the power conferred on me as the Maigari of Lokoja and Chairman of Lokoja Emirate Council.
“You are by this appointment a member of Lokoja Traditional Tittle Holders Council and henceforth your Traditional official greetings shall be: ‘Kpakoyankpa.’
According to the Royal father, the title was conferred on Mabo as a reward of his selfless sacrifice, devotion to a cause and climax capping of a glorious career.
“I am very proud of your track record and also rejoice with you as you celebrate the pinnacle of an enable achievement.
“It is part of the tradition of this emirate to honour leaders and people of the emirate who contributed to the development of the emirate and entire state,” he said.
Mabo, in a statement issued to pressman on Thursday in Lokoja, thanked the Maigari of Lokoja and members of Lokoja emirate council for the honour done to him and assured them that he would continue to work for the development of the Lokoja Emirate and the state in general.
