Vice Chancellor, Kogi State University, Kabba, Prof. K.I.T Eniola, has hailed the conduct and dedication the institution’s pioneer students to academic excellence.
Speaking during a media parley in Kabba on Friday, Prof. Eniola said the students are found truly worthy in learning and character.
He noted that the first semester examination for 2022/23 academic session, which ended on Friday, was seamless as both staff and students
He said the continued progress witnessed in the university culminating in the maiden examination has rubbished the notion that the institution is political.
Prof. Eniola comended the lecturers and non-academic staff of the university for the successful conduct of the maiden semester examination, which he noted was flawless.
The pioneer students expressed excitement on the conclusion of their maiden examination.
David Alimoke, 100 level English and Literature Studies student, expressed satisfaction on the professional conduct of the lecturers with the students. He added the students enjoy a parent-child relationship with staff of the university.
David Fortune, 100 level Mass Communication said she is happy to have concluded first semester exam.
The VC also said the institution, as the fastest growing state university in Nigeria, will be going digital as they will be embarking on all encompassing ICT training for all staff.
He disclosed that plans are underway to commence remedial program by the institution, while the IJMB centre in Kabba town is running effectively.
Speaking about transportation and accommodation challenges of the students, he said coaster buses will soon be procured to support the existing palliative transport system for the students.
He commended host communities’ hospitality, making the students comfortable to live among them.
In his closing remark, the Registrar of the school appreciated former Governor Yahaya Bello for the establishment of the institution and also commended Governor Usman Ododo for the continuity in developing the institution and for being supportive.
