Kogi State’s premier digital broadcast platform, LugardTV, is set to kick off a month-long celebration marking its first anniversary, with a series of events highlighting its growth, impact, and future in digital public service broadcasting.
The announcement was made by Hon. Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser on Media to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, in a statement issued in Lokoja on Tuesday.
According to Isah, the commemoration will begin Friday, July 18, 2025, with a community outreach and culminate on August 21, 2025, with a grand finale event featuring a high-level panel, awards, and the premiere of a special documentary showcasing LugardTV’s journey.
“LugardTV has become more than just a broadcaster. It is a digital bridge between government and the people of Kogi State,” Isah stated.
Founded in July 2024, LugardTV was created to offer authentic, government-aligned narratives about governance, development, and citizen engagement. Within its first year, it has produced nearly 1,000 original content pieces across sectors such as health, education, agriculture, security, and youth empowerment.
Isah praised the platform for breaking away from traditional models by offering real-time, digital-first coverage, with human interest and development-focused stories that resonate across and beyond Kogi State. He noted the platform’s growing audience base and influence.

“LugardTV has trained young professionals and NYSC members who now see public service media as a career of purpose,” he added.
Key events during the anniversary include an Open House (August 11–15), where the public can interact with the behind-the-scenes experience; a Team Bonding Day on August 16; and the Grand Finale on August 21, which will feature:
A panel discussion on the future of digital media, Premiere of the “LugardTV at One” documentary, Unveiling of new flagship programmes and recognition awards for partners and contributors to Kogi State’s development
Isah called on the public, media stakeholders, development partners, and creatives to support LugardTV’s mission of promoting transparent and inclusive governance through digital storytelling.
He also commended Governor Ododo for providing the vision and enabling environment that has helped LugardTV flourish in its first year.
