A former state lawmaker, Hon. Sulaiman Babadoko has expressed confidence that the people of Lokoja 1 state constituency will prefer him to other candidates as their next lawmaker because they earnestly desire somebody with good track record that will lead them to the promised land.
Babadoko, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated that no other contestants from his party, the APC and other parties could match him in terms of experience. He said he is far more competent than other aspirants for the position in the constituency.
The former lawmaker insisted that no other contestants could match him in terms of experience and achievement to represent the people of Lokoja 1, especially from the point where he stopped.
Recall that some aspirants from both the PDP and APC, had described Babadoko, as a political neophyte who has no experience to represent the Lokoja 1 people as they do.
But reacting to the claims of his opponents yesterday, Babadoko, in a press statement by the Director of Publicity and Strategy of the Babadoko Campaign Organization (BCO), Alhaji Tanimu Audu, said: “I was generously amused when some people were quoted as referring to me as politically inexperienced, what experience can they, who haven’t even been on the seat as a lawmaker lay claim to that I don’t have? And such experience, I have gathered under many political gurus in the State.
“I am an adherent of the principles of the people – oriented government style of former governor Ibrahim Idris and a loyal, dependable and tested hand.
“The support I am currently receiving from the people and stakeholders in Lokoja 1 constituency as not ruled out the primaries where I will face other aspirants and I am very confident of not only defeating them to clinch the party’s ticket, but also lead the PDP to defeat other political parties in the house of assembly election come 2019.
