Lokoja PDP Ward Congress Was Credible and Transparent – Dr Shehu Idris

Against the backdrop of crisis generated in some parts of the country on the recent Ward Congresses of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) the member representing Lokoja II constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Dr. Shehu Idris has described the exercise in his constituency as credible and transparent.

Dr. Idris who is an aspirant to the Federal House of Representatives in 2015 general elections disclosed this to The Graphic in an exclusive interview in Lokoja.

The Lawmaker stated that the understanding and unity demonstrated amongst the aspirants, the stakeholders and party members accounted for the success of the Congress and commended the leadership of the party for the success recorded.

Fielding questions on his chances, the aspirant said that his achievements will speak for him, adding that he had worked in tandem with the wishes and aspirations of his constituents during his tenure at the State House of Assembly.

Dr. Idris said he did not disappoint his constituents and promised to attract more dividends of democracy to them contest to take a shot to represent them at the Federal House of Representatives in 2915 general elections is devoid of selfish interest rather it is borne out of his desire to attract development to the area.

The Lawmaker commended the people of the area for having confidence, trust and believe in him stating that this will spur him to do more for them, assuring them that he would not disappoint them if given the mandate and promised a quality representation.

Fielding question on the recent jail break at Koton-Karfe, he described the incident as unfortunate and called for the relocation of the prison to its permanent site, saying the present location of the prison in town constitutes security risks in the area.
