The leadership of National Youth Council Of Nigeria, has in compliance with the national leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), directed the people of Kogi State to join in tomorrow’s proposed strike/protest against fuel price increment by the Federal Government.
This statement is by the President of the Council, Abdullahi Adamu, and is contained in a press statement signed by the Council’s media Director, Yabagi Mohammed.
According to the statement, the NLC calls on all the 36 states chairmen of labour, the Federal Capital Territory chapter and the 774 local government chapters to join the labour and civil society organizations to protest against the fuel hike.
Thus, the NYCN says that it is in support of the deregulation of the down stream sector but are against the hike at this current economic situation the country is in.
The President, Adamu therefore urge all members and affiliates organization to come out en mass tomorrow to the Freedom square, Paparanda Square, Lokoja by 7 am, where the protest will commence.
