The newly appointed supervisor for works in Lokoja local government area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has called on the staff to cooperate with him in an effort to realise set objectives of the present administration.
Comrade Abdullahi spoke during his inaugural meeting with the leadership of the department at the Local Government Secretariat in Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital.
The Supervisor, who harped on the commitment of the present administration towards creating a conducive atmosphere that would enhance their productivity, described them as members of the same family, hence the need for them to work towards effective service delivery.
He said the present administration in the state is determined to ensuring righting all the previous wrongs noticed among staff of local government in the state, and promised that all anomalies noticed in the staff screening would be corrected soon.
The Supervisor appealed for patience among the staff, even as he blamed the predicament of some of them squarely on their doorsteps, especially those with inconsistent credentials and other criminal cases during the verification process.
He promised that his doors would be widely opened for suggestions and criticisms that would better the department, informing them that he had no agenda other than that of the administrator of the Local Government Area, Hon Lawal Shiru.
Earlier while briefing the Supervisor, the Director of Works in the Local Government, Engr Yahaya Farouk had earlier explained some of the departments and their functions, as well as challenges being faced.
He was however quick to tender the commitment of the staff towards working hand-in-hand with the Supervisor to ensure that he succeeds in his new office.
