The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (APC) has warned the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state to halt the plan of arresting her members ahead the forthcoming Lokoja-Kogi federal constituency bye-election.
In a statement signed by Kabiru Mohammed, the party said it has uncovered plans by the Gov. Yahaya Bello administration to arrest prominent members of the party few days to the bye election.
The PDP says the plan by the APC is to harass, intimidate and remove some of it members from circulation. The party however warned that that strategy will not save the APC.
The PDP described the APC in the country as a sinking ship that has no single presence in Lokoja-Kogi federal constituency. The party added that the lack lustre performance of Governor Bello will serve as a minus for the APC in the bye election.
The PDP urged the security agencies in the state to refrain from being used as anti-democratic tools in the hands of the governor, pointing out that Kogi people have experienced untold hardship and sufferings under the APC led administration as never witnessed since the state creation and have all resolved to vote and protect their votes.
The PDP said the forthcoming coming election has already been won and lost.
