Lokoja: Idris Ndako Inspects Flood Areas, Calls For Urgent Attention

Felele community in Lokoja, Kogi State was ravaged with flood today after a heavy downpour in the early hours of the day.
The resultant flooding caused serious havoc to Felele community where several houses and properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed.
Honourable Idris Ndako, member representing Lokoja II constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly visited the affected areas for an on-the-spot assessment and to sympathize with the victims.
He noted that Felele community has always been prone to erosion due to environmental degradation and the bad terrain. He called on the state government to take urgent steps by constructing drainages and water canals to allow the easy passage of water.
The lawmaker sympathized with the victims whose properties were destroyed and assured them that adequate measures will be taken in solving the problems.
Affected victims expressed sadness over the unfortunate ordeal. They appealed to the state government to come to their rescue.
One of the victims, Mallam Adams Abdullahi urged the state government to construct drainage in order to avoid future occurrence. He observed that Felele community has not benefited anything from this new direction government, pointing out that the community lack good roads, electricity, water supply, no comprehensive health care and the only public school has no infrastructures.
Ndako assured them that he will continue to appeal to the state government to come to their aid. He explained that he has raised several motions that will benefit the community on the floor of the House.
