The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Kogi state chapter has reassured the entire workers in the 21 local government areas of payment of salaries before the coming Christmas this year.
This assurance came after the emergency meeting held by the executive members of ALGON recently in ALGON House, Lokoja.
According to the Chairman, Alhaji Taufiq Isa, the Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has given a marching order for the immediate payment of salaries before this year’s yuletide.
“The governor empathizes with the workers and feel the pains and agonies they are presently passing through in the state. He assured that all the delays in payment of salaries are not caused by the present administration but by those fraudulent men who had raped the economy of the state in the past 10 years before the advent of the present government”, he said.
He said the state is currently undergoing a surgical operation but it is recovering very quickly.
