His Excellency,
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
State House, Aso Rock Villa,
Abuja, Nigeria.
Through:
The Chief of Staff to the President
Your Excellency,
I write to draw urgent attention to the incessant security breaches ravaging Okun land (Kogi West Senatorial District). In recent months, our communities have witnessed a disturbing surge in kidnappings, killings, and brazen attacks. The abduction of a revered first-class monarch, the murder of local hunters, and deadly assaults on security personnel underscore the gravity of this crisis. Lives, livelihoods, and the very fabric of society in Okun land are under threat.
I respectfully urge the Federal Government to treat this situation as an immediate national security priority by:
1. Launching a joint federal–state emergency operation with the military, police, and intelligence agencies.
2. Strengthening community policing and equipping local response teams.
3. Deploying mobile intelligence and surveillance units across vulnerable corridors.
4. Ensuring speedy prosecution of perpetrators to restore deterrence.
5. Providing humanitarian support and compensation to affected families.
6. Investigating and thoroughly prosecuting local collaborators, including traditional institutions, that have eroded community trust by allegedly selling lands to rampaging gangs.
7. Encouraging the Governor of Kogi State to promote youth empowerment and employment programs to deter criminal elements from exploiting vulnerable young people.
Your Excellency, decisive action will restore hope and safeguard a people who have remained loyal and patriotic. Okun land cannot be left to the mercy of criminal elements.
Respectfully,
Barrister Segun Madamori
A concerned citizen of Okun land based in Canada
