Ebira Market Women Association have endorsed the chairmanship aspiration of Administrator of Okene Local Government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad to contest the yet-to-be scheduled council polls.
The market women made this known when they visited the council secretariat in Okene on Friday.
The women commended the Council Administrator for his unique style of leadership.
Leader of the market women, Hajia Khadijat Ogirima stated that the women have resolved to support the aspiration of Hon. Abdulrazaq because of his achievements in office, for maintaining peace, entrenched unity and security of lives and property.
She said in the past Ebira traders in Okene market lived in perpetual fear due to youth restiveness, political and clannish crisis before it was curbed by the present administration.
According to her, the government have also been able to subdue the spate of kidnapping, secured the highways and liberate the people from the shackles of criminals.
“Hon. Abdulrazaq did not only maintain a peaceful atmosphere for the people but has also made us proud as Okene Local Government delivered the highest votes to Gov. Yahaya Bello in the November 2019 governorship election.
“Consequent upon these and other achievements, we believe he will sustain the records and do more when elected as Executive Chairman of Okene Local Government. The entire market women hereby endorse you and support your aspiration,” she concluded.
Responding, the Council Administrator thanked the leadership and entire members of Ebira Market Women for the show of love, passion and appreciation to the little his administration have achieved in office. In addition to strengthening the Bank of Agriculture to empower more women, Hon. Abdulrazaq promised to initiate programs that will boost their businesses and create employment opportunities.
