Our attention has been drawn to the erroneous article going round on social media platforms to discredit the committee set up by the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kiri Kingdom comprising of critical Stakeholders from the two wards of Akutupa and Ayetoro Kiri, as it is the custom of the good people Kiri to always speak in one voice, in order to present a conscientious and credible candidate for the forthcoming council polls in Kabba/Bunu local government, as it was zoned to us.
We will like to intimate the general public to disregard the attention seeking publications and blackmail.
After several intellectual deliberations, the stakeholders decided to conduct a screening exercise so as to streamline the nine (9) aspirants to either two (2) or three (3), who are also expected to go through shadow primary to be able to select the best aspirant, who would be presented to the generality of Bunu and Kabba.
Seven (7) aspirants submitted themselves for the screening. The screening was credible, free, fair and without fear or favour.
We have no displeasure in the committee nor the members of the committee, whom we believe are representing the interest of the entire Kiri people.
Also, we want to disabuse the minds of the unsuspecting populace that as at today, Hon. Kehinde Oloruntoba remains the APC political leader in our revered Kiri Kingdom and we would continue to see him as one.
We therefore want to categorically state that as loyal party members, we would always be ready to submit ourselves for more screening and whatever democratic and lawful strategy that may be deployed whenever it is called for as no single individual’s interest supersedes that of the entirety of the good people of Kiri Kingdom.
We want the public to please take note.
