The former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Chief Clarence Olafemi, has denied allegation linking him with the sponsorship of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the forthcoming local government election in the state, describing such as the handiwork of some disgruntled and desperate politicians.

Olafemi, in a statement which he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Lokoja, said he was not in any way connected with the ACN regarding the forthcoming election in Mopa Muro Local Government.

He informed that people behind such allegations got it wrong because they goofed, advising them to face the problem confronting the party rather than embarking on smear campaigns.

According to him, “I have served our great party, the PDP, to the best of my ability. If I did not jump ship when the state chapter of the party decided to unlawfully substitute the name of Echocho and I as governorship candidate and running mate, is it now that I will do so because of council elections?”
