Kogi PDP Elders Forum has come hard on the Engr. Sam Uhuotu-led state executives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over management of funds accrued to the party for last Saturday local government election in the state.
In a statement signed by a member of the Forum, Alhaji Ibrahim Dansofo, the elders accused the state party chairman of diverting huge sums of money donated by prominent party members across and outside the state.
They also called on the Uhuotu-led exco to account for monies generated from the sales of nomination forms to aspirants in the just concluded council polls.
Dansofo alleged that the state leadership of PDP is only interested in personal gains and not interested in playing the role of the main opposition party.
They called on the national working committee of PDP to wade into the current ugly development in the Kogi state chapter of the party.
He equally accused Engr Uhuotu of anti-party posturing, adding that his actions and inactions are capable of affecting the chances of the party in the future, if not nipped in the bud.
“We are not unaware that party members from Lagos, Abuja and Kaduna, as well as other parts of the country, donated generously to enable PDP participate in the last election. These funds were diverted by Engineer Uhuotu led executive.
“Aspirants for chairmanship and councilorship positions in the 21 local government also paid for purchase of party’s nomination forms, but the funds has suddenly developed wings,” the elders said.
The elders forum bemoaned the lack of enthusiasm in the Uhuotu-led executive in the face of glaring expectations of Kogi citizens who yearn for good government through PDP.
