Chairman, Lokoja local government of Kogi State, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, has confirmed the rescue of two pastors abducted during a vigil around 11pm at the Akpamoba-Igbola Mountain on Friday night.

In a statement signed by his special adviser, Hon. Yusuf Bala, and made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday, the LG Chairman said Pastor Adura Kayode and Kingsley Ebong of the City of Grace Prophetic Liberation Church who were abducted have been reunited with their families while the manhunt for the criminals continues.

The Chairman called on residents of the area to remain calm as security personnel on the trails of the criminals are making steady progress.

He noted that though the worshippers who escaped have given useful information to the security operatives, anybody with credible intel should not hesitate to contact the authorities.

He assured the public that security operatives will continue to comb the forests until everyone who may have been abducted and held in the forests is freed.

The Chairman commended Commander Ismaila Hassan and officers of the Community Vigilante Groups covering Felele to Tajimi and its environs for swiftly responding to the distress call which forced the criminals to hurriedly retreat.

He further charged security operatives to sustain the search, rid the forest of all criminal elements and restore sanity.
