The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Matthew Kolawole has admonished Nigerians to continue to guide jealousy the current uninterrupted democratic governance the country is enjoying, noting that the form of government remained the best option for Nigeria to carry along the vast majority of the people.
The Speaker who congratulated Nigerians on the 19th year anniversary of Democracy in the country in the fourth republic added that Nigerians have no alternative than to continue to support in strengthening the system to deliver the best for the people.
He said despite various challenges, majority of Nigerians still believe in the system as the only form of government that can truly provide the necessary representation the people need.
He call on the opposition not to overheat the polity rather they should complement the efforts of the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello by criticizing constructively when necessary devoid of bad blood as that is the only way to move both the country and state forward.
He cautioned the opposition not to play politics with the security challenges in the North Central especially Taraba and Benue States and other parts of the country, stressing that all hands must be on the deck to jointly confront the menace of insecurity.
He said the President Buhari led Federal Government has done much in tackling the insurgency in the north east of the country but regrets the herdsmen and farmers clashes that has led to the death of many, urging the security agents to up their game in tackling these security problems.
He noted that the All Progressive Congress (APC) led Federal Government has shown to be a party that means well for the country, calling on Nigerians to support the anti corruption crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari in order to save the country from corrupt few who has held the country hostage for a very long time.
He further said the administration has achieved much in the area of agriculture, road infrastructures, health, education, youth empowerments, power, housing and above all Nigeria as a country is being respected globally.
He appealed to the people to go and get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to vote massively for the APC in the forthcoming General Elections, as the Nigerians can’t afford to go back to the dark old age of bad leadership.
He congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello and the entire New Direction Team for their monumental achievements in the State and urged Kogites to continue to support the current administration to reposition the State.
He assured Kogites that the Sixth Assembly under his watch would continue to make laws that will promote the good governance of the State for the overall interest of all.
