In our political climate, some Politicians are inherently better than others.

A particular instance of Elder Hon. Dr. Leke Joseph Abejide, member representing the appreciative people of Yagba Federal Constituency in the lower chamber of the 10th Assembly.

As espoused by free – thinkers for justice and freedom for all – ” no woman is better than another; they can only be worse than each other.”

When justaposed with politics, it means no politician is morally superior by default, some are basically less harmful than others.

Therefore, sentiment, ‘awalokan’, and other minutest conjectures should never replace exemplary leadership skills, legislative acumen laced with integrity and patriotism, people – centric initiatives, and developmental growth occasioned by stellar synergy and negotiation when assessing public office holders.

Before falsely alleging that the rare personality and quintessential lawmaker, Elder Leke hasn’t done enough for the people, we must first understand what his job actually is.

In academics, a student who excels in extra- curricular activities but fails core courses will not pass evaluation.

This is so, because no examiner will be induced by football trophies if the student fails mathematics.

Governance therefore, should follow the same reasoning.

Has Leke Abejide failed the test of legislative assignment? No! He has contributed to bills and motions that firstly affect the growth and development of his constituency and secondly, impact nationally.

Will Yagba electorates stand against him in the forthcoming 2027 House of Representatives election? It is not feasible because his people have not witnessed anything near his unprecedented dividends of democracy and service delivery.

Will the people vote for him enmasse as usual in view of his perceived performance? In a free and fair election, he is destined to be re- elected.

Does he envisage his God ordained continuous stay in the green dome as personal property and entitlement? He is actually engrossed in increasing his accountability quotient to the people.

Will he engrain corruption and stagnate his people from fresh perspectives and youth inclusivity?

Democracy is only weakened when leaders lose touch with voters realities.

Elder Abejide has not lose touch with the grassroot and progressive growth of his people.

Will he continue the good good work he has started? He is on the verge of doing more and take Yagba Federal Constituency to an eldorado of their their dreams and aspirations.

What does the lovely and accommodating Yagba people stand to benefit if Leke Abejide is re- elected?

He will become a high ranking Representative.

The power in the House of Representatives among the senior Representative is overwhelming, influential and power – broking.

More power are handed to Representatives with more than one term service. Senior Representatives have more power to head juicy committee and have the power to influence federal patronage appointment.

With no grandstanding, the affable and amiable Abejide have shown over the years that he has a lot of potential to continue his leadership role and unprecedented style of putting smiles on the faces of the people he represents.

With an assured optimism, Elder Leke will do more because he will know more in 2027 – 2032.

If given the social mandate to represent his people, once again, Elder Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide will bring more dividends of democracy to our doorsteps.
