The Leke Abejide Foundation (LAF) has commenced free West African Examinations Council (WAEC) biometric capturing and registration for students of private secondary schools in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The initiative, aimed at easing the financial burden on parents and expanding access to education, is part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to human capital development across the Yagba axis.

Founder of the foundation and member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Elder Leke Joseph Abejide, has a long history of humanitarian services. Through LAF, he has supported the needy, widows, women and youths, while implementing empowerment programmes for Okun sons and daughters, even before his election to the House of Representatives.

Since his emergence as a federal lawmaker, the foundation has assumed broader community responsibilities, intensifying its welfare and education-focused interventions to complementing his legislative efforts for constituents.

The team led by Hon Tayo Johnson detailed the extent of the programme whilst pledging fairness, transparency to the entire process.

Receiving the foundation’s committee on the WAEC registration exercise, Hon. Joshua Dare Monday, Executive Chairman of Yagba East Local Government Council, commended Hon. Abejide for his sustained investment in education and overall development of the Yagba Federal Constituency.

He described the initiative as timely and impactful, noting that it would help many students pursue their academic aspirations without financial hindrance.

The free WAEC registration programme is expected to benefit hundreds of students and further reinforces the foundation’s role in promoting inclusive education in the constituency.
