Leader of Kabba-Bunu local government legislative council, Hon Comfort Obaromi has described reports alleging planned relocation of Kabba Central Market to Zango as totally untrue and misleading.

In a statement on Wednesday evening, Hon Obaromi said the recent report authored by one Ilugbemi Jerome was a disservice to the people of Kabba-Bunu LGA.

According to Rt. Honourable Comfort Obaromi, the motion that was discussed in the council did not call for a relocation of the market, but rather suggested that traders selling farm produce should trade their wares at the Zango market to reduce congestion on market days.

She explained that the traders currently sell their produce on the road as they do not have proper stores, which leads to a messy situation after they are done selling.

“The decision that the executive to look into this matter was made in order to address the concerns of road users and to ensure a more organized market space for the traders,” she clarified.

Rt. Honourable Comfort Obaromi emphasized that decisions regarding the market or any other issue that affects the community will always be made with the people’s best interest at heart.

She urged the public to disregard any misinformation being spread by individuals who seek to cause division and discord in the community.

It is strictly the duty of the Executives and not the legislature to make or effect such policy or move, as it does not fall within their purview.

She advised the people of Kabba-Bunu LGA to remain united and focused on progress, rather than being misled by rumors and lies.
