The Chairman of the House Committee on Steel Development and member representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims has congratulated the recently elected and inaugurated Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and Councillors of councils in the constituency.

Hon Halims, in his congratulatory message issued on Monday, charged the elected council officials to discharge their duties with utmost fear of God, diligence and selflessly in the overall interest of the masses at all time.

According to the federal lawmaker, leadership is a trust that must be held with all sanctity and the opportunity of service given to them by the electorates must be seen as a privilege at all times stressing that local government administration is more of consultation than any dexterity.

Furthermore, Halims called on the people of the three local government areas to cooperate with the constituted authorities in moving the area forward noting that governance is everybody’s business and as such, shouldn’t be left only to the elected especially as it concerns socioeconomic development, security, protection of lives and properties.

He commended the All Progressives Congress(APC), under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello for the implementation of thirty five percent women affirmative action in governance via the nomination of women as vice chairperson across the twenty one local government areas.
