The member representing Kogi (Koton-Karfe) constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Saidu Akawu Salihu has described the insinuation from certain quarters that he collected N100 million from Kogi Local Government as a cheap political blackmail to tarnish his image.
Hon. Salihu disclosed this in Koton-Karfe, the headquarters of Kogi LGA during his constituency briefing tagged “My Score-Card”. He said the allegation has demonstrated the level to which blackmail, character assassination and slander have degenerated to in the area.
The lawmaker called on the people to always rally round and support their leaders and advised them to always appreciate and celebrate those who have contributed to the development of the area. Salihu said, “if one is progressing, you should rally support and pray for him instead of the pull-him-down syndrome”
While restating his disposition to constructive criticism, he admonished the people to eschew politics of bitterness and play developmental politics, adding that the rapid development of the area should be the concern of all.
Hon Salihu thanked the people for giving him their overwhelming votes that enabled him to represent them, promising that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him.
