This presentation is not oratorical but a fitting tribute to an impactful man. A quote from one of Ceasar’s work is apt here; “When Beggers die there are no comets seen, but the heavens themselves blaze forth the death of prince”. The undertone in this write-up is purely based on the exploits of this great man.
Elder J.Y. Eboh is one of the few men that cannot easily be forgotten. This is not because he controls millions, but largely due to the massive impact he generated in his life time. He lived a life of impact. I saw in him the true riches as advocated in the bible.
The selfless life of this great man caught my attention at a very tender age. It was an enviable lifestyle difficult to pursue due to the materialistic nature of our time. But he lived this unique and exemplary life with ease. His christian dedication must have earned him this. He was among the first set of ordained Ministers of God in the old Qua Iboe Church.
Back then, his life was predicated on missionary and evangelistic activities. He took the gospel to every nook and cranny of my local government and beyond. It is on record that he has preached in every part of Igala land. He did this until his last days.
The late renowned preacher has impacted lives more than any millionaire in my area. It was remarkable. He lived a selfless life.His private car was for the public. The food in his house served others within the neighbourhood. He had trained the youths more than the millionaires. It would be difficult to fill the vacuum his demise has created. His impactful life wasn’t limited to the church and neighbourhood alone, but the entire Igala land. My joy is that I became connected to this great family very early in life. I learnt to be selfless from this great man. I hereby encouraged people to live a good and impactful life. What he stood for, the life and work will remain with us for long as a legacy.
The late Elder J.Y. Eboh was a selfless community leader, A reconciliator, An astute educationist, A careful politician, and a Teacher of an unquestionable character.
May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
