L-PRES Begins Distribution of Forms to Poultry Farmers in Lokoja

The Kogi Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project has commenced distribution of application forms for women and youths empowerment support to already profiled poultry farmers in Lokoja local government area.

The distribution of the application forms began on 1st July and will end on 8th July, 2024.

The Team Lead for Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Areas, Mr Emmanuel Awuya Anakobe, made this known today when he visited Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, the Caretaker Chairman of Lokoja Local Government in his office.

Anakobe, who represented by the Animal Health Officer of Kogi L-PRES, Dr. Khalid Muhammad Bashir, stated that they were at the Local Government Secretariat to commence the distribution of application forms.

The Chairman commended the efforts of the World Bank, Federal Government and the Kogi State Government for the collaboration that has birthed the laudable Project. The Chairman specifically thanked the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for the concerted effort in making that the agricultural sector is given priority to ensure food sufficiency in the State.

He appealed to the Kogi State Project Coordinator of L-PRES, Dr. Olufemi Bolarin to ensure indigenous people from Lokoja Local Government Area benefited.

The L-PRES is a 6 year project with development objective that seeks to improve livestock sector management for increased productivity, food and nutrition security, income growth and social cohesion between farmers and herders.
