A former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (APC, Kano Central), has denied a report that he has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Those spreading such information were doing so as propaganda. These speculations were part of the mischievous activities against him and I urged the public to discountenance them.
They are making frantic effort to cash in and woo Kwankwaso to return to the opposition PDP with their 2019 Presidential ticket as a bate. Unfortunately for them, kwankwaso is a man of integrity who will never accept such Greek gift.
With the political and economic state of the nation presently, it beholds on the APC to present to the Nigerian people a sellable and acceptable candidate that enjoys national appeal.
Irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliation, the candidature of Senator Musa Kwankwaso will not only sanitize and unite the APC but will harvest the left over in PDP and other political parties.
Senator Musa Kwankwaso has a sound track record that is imprinted in the sand of times in the Nigerian political landscape. This has seriously endear him to the people.
I am a firm believer in the right and obligation of the media as enshrined in our constitution.
While urging media practitioners to ensure that their accounts of events should be fair, balanced and accurate, Alfa warned against manipulations by politicians and selfish people with sectional motives to the detriment of collective national interest.
Media practitioners should continue to foster peace, religious tolerance and harmony in the country.
