The leadership of the Students Union Government in Kogi State University, Anyigba, has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for nominating their lecturer, Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni as a minister of the federal republic of Nigeria.
The President, Comrade Shaibu Philip Omepa and Secretary, Comrade Mohammed Buhari, in a statement, noted that, the nomination by Mr.president has further demonstrated his readiness to recognise and appoint qualified, tested and worthy like Professor Stephen Ocheni.
The statement reads, in part: “we have no shred of doubt that Professor Stephen Ocheni will match and even exceed the expectations of his assignments if conformed by the Senate of the federal republic of Nigeria. This assurance is in view of his track records of achievements in civil and public service especially in the academia.
“The leadership also recognise and appreciates the fervent and detribalized role of our amiable Governor, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello who has stood tenaciously with the nominee.”
The Union leaders also used the medium to remind and appeal the governor to come to the aid of the students who have been at home for the past three months as a result of ASUU strike, which they said, is capable of luring them to societal dangers.
