Kogi State Medical Students’ Association (KOMSA) has applauded the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Saka Haruna Audu for the release of a Rapid Risk Assessment site for COVID-19 to enable Kogites ascertain their status.
This was mentioned on Monday in a statement by the National President, Comrade Jeremiah Wonchiko Elukpo.
Elukpo stated that the site was developed by one of her astute members, Anthony Edogbo a 400level medical student in Ebonyi State University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki.
He said; “It is obvious that KOMSA is fulfilling one of her major objectives which is to make sure members contribute their quota to the development of the health sector in the State for the betterment of our dear Kogites.”
He further elaborated that the site is not a 100% diagnostic tool but a risk assessment tool which will definitely help Kogites to filter possible cases and identify high risk groups for immediate check up and medical attention.
He noted that other measures are being taken by the government to contain Covid-19 and the site is just one of them.
“KOMSA appreciated the Kogi State government and the Commissioner for Health for this initiative. It is smart, prompt and very applaudable.
He thanked Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for all the proactive responses taken so far to curb the spread of the virus and for blessing the state with a competent State Ministry of Health under the leadership of Dr. Saka Haruna Audu.
