#KogiGovRace: I’ll Revive Ajaokuta Steel If Elected – Audu

The All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for the November 21, 2015 governorship election in Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu has pledged to utilize his presidential connection to ensure that the morbid Ajaokuta Steel Rolling Company is revived if elected.

 

Speaking when he received a delegation of party supporters from Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the state that paid him paid him a solidarity visit in Abuja, the former governor of the state noted that his administration will work assiduously towards ensuring that the company is revived.

 

The delegation was led by a serving member representing Ajaokuta federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Idris Lawal.

Members of the the delegation include Hon. Husseini Balogun, Hon. Samson Bako, Hon. Samari Adams, Nuhu Attai, Ismaila Oddo, Musa Akaaba, MD Ahmed, Musa Jibrl, Habib Idris and Adebera Oja.

Audu told the delegation that he was ready to alleviate the suffering of the people of Kogi State by working closely with the government and relevant authorities at the centre to ensure realisation of the dream by raising funds from the capital market to achieve the objective of the industry.

Expressing concern over the high rate of unemployment among the teeming youths population in the state, he noted that revitalizing the company is the panacea to addressing the issue of joblessness confronting the state and the country in general.

The APC leader in the state also argued that apart from the joblessness crisis, the state also stands the chances to earn huge income from revenue expected to be generated from the project

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Hon. Lawal said the delegation was in Abuja to congratulate Prince Abubakar Audu over his victory at the party’s governorship primary election.

Lawal assured Audu of the total support of Ajaokuta people during the forthcoming election, saying he was optimistic that the ex-governor will replicate all achievements and projects the local government council benefited under his administration between 1999 and 2003.

He mentioned such projects to include, creation of Ajaokuta East Local Government Council, construction of Ajaokuta-Lokoja road, establishment of Confluence Beach Hotel, construction of Commissioners’ Quarters and many other projects spreading across the LGC.
