A group, Ebira Solidarity Front, ESF from the central Senatorial district, who are members of All Progressive Congress, APC has distanced itself from the purported endorsement of one of the aspirants from Ebiraland, as its sole candidate for the gubernatorial primary of the party.
The group in a statement on Thursday in Lokoja signed by its president, Mr. Abdul Maliki Abdul and made available to journalists stated that the district had array of contestants with pedigrees and intimidating credentials, adding that it will be a great dis-service to Ebira nation for the campaign organisation of a particular aspirant to go about saying the APC delegates from the area had endorsed him as the sole candidate.
The group further stated that the purported endorsement was totally false and un-true, adding that Central senatorial district had a line up of its’ political first eleven’, like Senator Muhammed Ohiare, Mr. Adinoyi Ojo Onukaba and Senator Nurudeen Abattemi, who are equally in the race for the governorship ticket.
“Our doors are widely open for consultation with our brothers in the other districts of the state to fashion out how best to produce a credible and acceptable candidate for the APC in the forth coming governorship election in the state”, the statement added.
The group also appealed to the delegates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to shun aspirants who were campaigning based on tribal sentiment and go for any candidate that will be acceptable to the electorate in the November poll, irrespective of its tribe, religion and background.
