A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State, Mr. Adewale Abel has called on leaders and supporters of the party to rally behind the party’s candidate in the November governorship poll in order to liberate the state from underdevelopment.

Abel, a former Senatorial candidate of the defunct ACN in the 2011 elections said party discipline and loyalty must supersede individual interests. He said the primary was devoid of manipulation and therefore represents the true wishes of the Kogi people.

“I monitored the processes leading to the primary and the primary itself. It was a novel exercise which our members should be proud of. What the primary stated was that Prince Abubakar Audu is the most acceptable candidate for the party and we have to go with that.

“The primary that I witnessed in the Confluence Stadium was the best I have ever witnessed. That was why no aspirant has faulted it till now. From accreditation to voting and counting, the APC proved to the whole world that we are already in a new Nigeria.

“As a democrat, we must understand the game. In a contest where only one candidate should emerge, others must display a true spirit of sportsmanship. Let all other aspirants team up with Prince Audu to sweep PDP out of Lugard House”, he said.

Mr. Abel who expressed confidence in Prince Abubakar Audu’s leadership, assured the people of the state of better days ahead under the government of APC in the state.
