Former deputy team leader of the Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (YouWiN), Mr. Akubo Adegbe, has thrown his hat into the ring to contest for Kogi State governorship ticket on the Labour Party (LP) platform.
A statement from his campaign office said Adegbe formally declared his intention to seek the party’s ticket in Lokoja yesterday, lamenting that the state was still struggling in terms of basic infrastructure 25 years after its birth.
“There is still much to be desired in this potential super state that is blessed with abundant human and natural resources. There are some who believe that we need to re-make The Confluence State and I couldn’t agree more! Ours is a land so rich yet, her people so impoverished,” Adegbe in the statement.
“Our expertise and skills are exported to other states and countries while our land suffers immensely for lack of development. Our youth have been reduced to seasonal tools for ill-intentioned politicians who ensure that these youths,” he said.
