#KogiDecides: Youth Group Drums Support for Wada

Leonard Okacjhie Youth group under the umbrella of Champions Youths Development Association of Nigeria (CHYDAN) has endorsed the candidacy of the Governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the forthcoming November 21st governorship election in the state.

The group in press statement issued after the 2-day National Conference of the National Working Committee held at its National Secretariat, National Theatre, Lagos State, boasted that it would support Wada’s re-election across the 21 Local Government Areas of in the state with at least 21, 000 votes.

National President of CHYDAN, Comrade Umar Isma’il speaking shortly after conference said Wada’s integrity, his transformational agenda and the need for continuity necessitated them to endorse and support him.

Isma’il noted that Wada has touched every sector in the state particularly in education, primary health care, housing, agriculture, civil servants, empowerments, zero tolerance for insecurity and so on.

He stated that Wada’s administration has made Kogi State one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria.

Founder of CHYDAN, Mr. Bameyi Zekeri who is also Kogi State indigene said that Wada has institutionalised good governance and therefore should be appreciated with another four years to enable him complete all his on-going transformational agenda.

According to the statement, CHYDAN Board of Trustees Chairman who is also the OnuIgala of Lagos Mainland, Chief Umoru Abdul was in Kogi State two weeks ago to study the political situation in the state noted that there is a need for Wada to urgently create a platform of meeting personally with all non-governmental organisations and groups that are in support of his re-election and solicit for their votes.

Chief Abdul wondered why Wada has not be meeting with these groups, adding that some of them have their formidable structures across the state and could as well assist him with some campaign strategies that will strengthen his chance of winning the election.

He advised Wada to be wary of some of his sycophants who are silently working against his re-election.

Secretary-General of CHYDAN, Mrs. Lynda Nweke who is also a legal practitioner, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to conduct a free, fair and credible election in the state.

She warned INEC not to plug the state into violence in the name of election, even as she also called on the electorate to come out massively and vote for their choice
