The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi State, Dr Umar Akwu Goodman has said the state needs generational change of power to enable it join comity of great states in the country.

 

 

The APGA flag bearer dropped said this at Idah on Tuesday during a campaign rally in the ancient city, saying that the level of decay in the state needs a new crop of leaders to overhaul apparatus of development for a lasting change in the standard of living in the headquarters at Oguma in a deplorable condition promised to rehabilitate all the feeder roads and the main highways that runs through the council for economic activities to pick up sharply.

 

 

The campaign rally witnessed a lot of defectors from the rival parties, particularly the PDP, some of whom are holding various political appointments in the present government in the state.

 

He said the state was tired of recycling leadership mantle among the older generation that have brought Kogi State to the present predicament of failure and economic quagmire.

 

 

“In this generation, people are still talking of the likes of Idris Wada and Abubakar Audu to rule Kogi State. What will we be expecting at the end of the day? Failure, backwardness and fraud.”

 

 

The APGA candidate who said the chance of his party was very bright in the forthcoming election posited that the opportunity had come once again to end the dynasty of Audu, Wada and Ibrahim Idris in the politics of the state.

 

 

Dr Goodman described the APC and PDP candidates in the coming election as symbol of fraud, anarchy, unemployment and hardships, stressing that his blueprints is at hands and ready to transform the state to the benefit of all.

 

 

He called on the civil servants to call the bluff of Audu and Wada to end retrenchment, percentage payment of salary and promotion without cash backing
