Capt Idris Wada, has assured Kogi State Timber Contractors of his administration’s commitment towards ensuring that issues relating to their business environment gets attention.
Capt Wada and flag bearer of the People Democratic Party, gave the assurance at an endorsement ceremony by Kogi State Timber Contractors held at Zango Daji Timber Market, Lokoja.
The Governor described the carpenters and the Timber Contractors as a very important segment in the built and construction industry.
Represented by his deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, the governor called on Nigerians to realized the importance of the carpenter, said the basis for every good construction, rest with the quality of Timber and Carpenter.
The governor thanked the Association for the endorsement, promised to look into their request for certificate of occupancy to their land and for a vehicle to aid their movement.
The governor said another term in office would enable him consolidate on the good works started in his first term, described his relationship with the Timber Contractors as the beginning of good things to come in the future.
The governor commended the initiative by the Timber Contractors to key into his transformation administration, commended the purposeful leadership and vision of the Association.
The governor urged them to troop out enmass on November 21, as efforts is on to provide security and a conducive environment that would allow for people to exercise their right to vote.
Also speaking, Jonathan Zaccheaus, State Coordinator of GTSI, said the honor done the PDP and Capt Idris Wada, by the endorsement, was a fallout of the efforts by the present administration to improve the well-being of the Kogi State Timber contractors.
In a welcome remarks, Mr Ikeun Christopher, said the Timber Contractors, Saw Millers and Dealers Association, having consulted widely across the state on the developmental strides and pragmatic leadership of Capt Wada, decided to endorse the governor for another term in office.
Highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of award to the state governor, Capt Wada, the immediate past governor, Alh Ibrahim Idris, and Sen Tunde Ogbeha, for their support for the Association.
