#KogiDecides: Faleke Decries Infrastructure Decay in Kogi

The deputy governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress, APC, in Kogi State in November 21, 2015, election, James Faleke, has decried the level of infrastructure decay in the state, promising an improvement if his party was voted into power.

 

Speaking at Olle Bunu during a visit to the palace of the Olubunu of Bunu, HRH Oba J.A Ikusemoro, at Olle Bunu, Faleke described as shameful and unacceptable the level of decay and underdevelopment in the state, wondering what successive PDP governments had done with the resources accruing to the state in the last 13 years.

 

 

He said: “For the past 13 years the PDP held sway in Kogi, the state has not recorded any worthwhile development, rather it has been moving in the reverse direction, thus bringing sufferings and hardship to our people in spite of the huge resources at its disposal.”

 

 

“What has the successive PDP governments done with the resources accruing to the state, both from the Federation Account and the internally generated funds in the last 13 years?

 

 

“The roads are bad, salaries are not paid, and where they are paid, only a fraction of workers monthly emoluments are released.”

 

Faleke disclosed that major infrastructure developments in the state were put in place during the administration of Prince Abubakar Audu between 1999 and 2003.

 

 

“He promised that the state would witness massive development if the APC was voted into power on November 21.

 

Other traditional rulers present on the occasion were the Obaro of Odo-Ape, Oba Jimoh Meseko; the Olu of Okebukun, Oba Ige Omonile and Obaro of Olle, Oba Dan Baba.
