Prince Abubakar Audu, the Kogi State All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate for for November 21 governorship election, took his tour of the state to Idah local government area today.
The team, which included his deputy, James Faleke; Comrade Isah Daniel, Director General for the campaign; and Alhaji Linko Ocheje amongst others, landed in Idah in the early part of the day which marked the continuation of the visits to all the local government areas of the eastern axis of Kogi State.
The rally which held at Qua-Ibo primary school, Idah saw the party state chairman, Hadi Ametuo, take to the stage and introduce the APC leaders, as well as announce the defection of Abdul Adama, former Special Adviser to the Kogi State governor on Public Private Partnership, PPP, alongside two hundred other PDP members to the APC. He also stressed the importance of the people to get their permanent voters card, PVC saved with them. “If you want to see change in Kogi, you must be ready to vote Wada out. Don’t sell your vote,” he told the crowd.
Coming through chants of, “Audu, oyoyo!” Audu then spoke and assured the people that the APC will emerge as winner of the governatorial election, saying, “We are going to win because that is what God wants.”
Audu connected to the crowd by speaking in his native Igala, spoke on issues affecting the state. “What is happening in Kogi State is totally unacceptable because most youths in the state are unemployed; I assure my government will create job opportunities for the youths, we would turn around the agriculture and mining sectors to provide employment for the people of this great state.” he said to the audience.
He also spoke on the falling standard in education, stating, “Your vote for me will ensure that every child has a seat in a good classroom and is fed daily for free; our tertiary institutions will produce competent graduates.” He ended by also encouraging all to keep their PVC save.
At the rally venue, which was filled with supporters there were several speakers including APC’s State Woman leader, Hajia Rabi Haruna, assured the women of Kogi a better life under a Audu-led government.
In attendance are; The council chairman, Hon. Major Musa, Nuhu Audu, Sanni Ogu, Adama Achimugu and a host of others.
