The Kogi State chairman of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, Pastor Chinga Emmanuel, who was assaulted by aggrieved Kogi State Coordinators of the party’s Presidential candidate, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, for allegedly sitting on campaign funds is now worried over his missing horsewhip.

The horsewhip, which is his trade mark and is believed to have magical powers, was seized by his attackers during the fracas, which occurred last week Wednesday at Confluence Hotel Adankolo, Lokoja.

Pastor Emmanuel was attacked and beaten following an allegation that he held on to the money meant for the 21 coordinators of Mr. Moghalu’s campaign project.

The money, which according to sources was One million five hundred naira, was to be shared at a meeting of 21 coordinators drawn from the twenty-one 21 local government area of the state.

Trouble began after two leaders of the YPP told the participants that the money was yet to be deposited into a designated bank account.

‪The news angered the coordinators, particularly, amid claims that N200.000 hotel bill had been allegedly issued for food and drinks which were not served.‬

‪The aggrieved coordinators consequently held the two party leaders hostage and insisted that they will not allow them go until the funds were released.‬

‪At this stage, some political thugs escorted Pastor Emmanuel out of the hall, who then quickly entered his waiting car for a quick escape.‬

However, in his bid to leave the area, Mr. Emmanuel’s driver lost control and rammed into another vehicle and a passer-by.

The development sparked off multiple reactions as the angry group bundled Mr. Emmanuel out of his car while his colleagues took to their heels.

‪The commotion also led to attacks on two food sellers in Adankolo community whose restaurants were destroyed by the political hoodlums.‬

It was not clear immediately how the fracas was resolved.
